French Tourists and Leaders Experience Lango Culture at the Center of Uganda

Ambassador Doreen Amule, Hon. Morish Ogwal Omara, and Visitors Share Traditional “Nyuka Kal” in Amolatar

Tourists from France joined Her Excellency Ambassador Doreen Amule and the LCV Chairperson of Amolatar District, Hon. Morish Ogwal Omara, in sharing traditional local porridge commonly known as “Nyuka Kal” during a cultural visit to the Center of Uganda in Olyaka, Namasale Subcounty.

The gathering showcased the rich cultural heritage of the Lango community, with guests experiencing traditional hospitality, local cuisine, and community interaction at one of Uganda’s notable cultural and tourism landmarks.

Celebrating Lango Cultural Heritage

The cultural experience highlighted the importance of preserving and promoting indigenous traditions, foods, and customs as part of Uganda’s tourism and identity. Visitors from France appreciated the warm reception and the opportunity to experience authentic Lango culture firsthand.

Community members explained the significance of “Nyuka Kal” as a traditional local porridge enjoyed within the region and often associated with unity and hospitality among the people of Lango.

Promoting Tourism Through Cultural Exchange

Leaders present during the visit emphasized the value of cultural tourism in promoting local communities and creating stronger international connections. The Center of Uganda in Olyaka continues to attract attention as an important site for cultural interaction and tourism development in Northern Uganda.
