Ugandan Embassy Team Visits Olyaka Village in Namasale Subcounty
A delegation from the Embassy of Uganda in France, led by Ambassador Doreen Amule, paid a special visit to the Center of Uganda located in Olyaka Village, Namasale Subcounty, Amolatar District.
The visit aimed at promoting cultural heritage, tourism, and strengthening connections between Ugandans in the diaspora and local communities. The delegation engaged with local leaders and residents while appreciating the historical and geographical significance of the area, widely recognized as the “Center of Uganda.”
Promoting Tourism and Cultural Heritage
During the visit, Ambassador Doreen Amule emphasized the importance of preserving Uganda’s cultural identity and promoting tourism potential across different regions of the country. She noted that unique landmarks such as the Center of Uganda can play a key role in attracting both local and international tourists.
The delegation also highlighted the importance of community participation in promoting sustainable development and preserving heritage sites for future generations.
Local Leaders Welcome the Delegation
Leaders and residents of Olyaka Village warmly welcomed the delegation and expressed appreciation for the visit. Community members shared their aspirations for improved tourism infrastructure and increased visibility of the area at both national and international levels.
The visit concluded with interactions between the delegation and local community members, as well as a tour of the surrounding areas in Namasale Subcounty.
